About SECNAD

SECNAD was started in Yorkshire during the early 90’s. It began when a manager from an older person’s residential home experienced Dance  Movement Therapy on her management course.

Since then SECNAD has provided a variety of sessions in day centres for people with learning and physical disabilities in York and was asked to provide programmes in the public sector for clients, staff, carers and management groups in the Yorkshire area. SECNAD quickly developed into the community working with individuals and groups by helping them to discover the benefits of Dance Movement Therapy

Through organizing and providing long and short-term programmes. In 1999 family commitments meant that SECNAD has said farewell to Yorkshire and is now developing in Argyll and surrounding areas.

To date we have worked in elderly homes, resource centres for the disabled, after school clubs, primary and secondary schools, hospitals, substance misuse rehabilitation units, link clubs, individual one off group sessions and worked with other professionals and recently with the Millennium Commission.
